Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is the largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. We’re a non-profit cultural movement with hundreds of local branches around the world, and as you can read in our history we’ve been working for the cause of Irish music since the middle of the last century (1951 to be precise). Our efforts continue with increasing zeal as the movement launches itself into the 21st century.

Welcome to the official online presence of the Wexford Town branch of Comhaltas, one of the fastest growing branches in the Country. We have members in Rosslare, Rathangan, Taghmon, Crossabeg, Screen, Wexford town and points in between. Join today through our membership page and become a part of the Wexford family of musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers. We are committed to the preservation of Irish traditional music, song, dance and, of course, language. Bígí linn!
One of our main aims is to bring Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann to Wexford. Tá sé ag teacht ... am éigin! In the meantime we will continue with our efforts to increase awareness of, and appreciation for, traditional culture in Wexford.

There were no county, provincial or national fleadhanna this year or last year as a result of the virus. Our hearts go out to everyone in Westmeath Comhaltas who we know have put in so much time and energy for an event which did not happen (two years in succession). As the seanfhocal says: Tamall gan treoir, tamall na ndeor (Time without direction is a time of tears).
We held our 2nd annual Wexford Trad & Folk Weekend before the pandemic axe fell in March 2020. Bhí sé go h-iontach! That was the first and last (non-virtual) festival of the year in Wexford. There was no Spring festival in 2021.
The good news is TÁ MUID AR AIS with a bang! On Sept 5, CLG and Wexford Arts Centre ran the 2nd Trad & Folk Trail at the Irish National Heritage Park. Ócáid ceiliúrtha agus suáilceach a bhí ann.
